Edited at the Royal Institution of Great Britain, the Quarterly Journal of Science and the Arts was an American reprint of the Quarterly Journal of Science, and was to be a collection of useful scientific information. Contributions were made by members of the Royal Institution and others of scientific and literary eminence. The Journal published papers on all fields of science, Proceedings of the Royal Society of London and the Royal Society of Edinburgh, reviews of foreign journals, lists of new publications, and weather information. Diagrams and illustrations accompanied many of the papers.--Cf. American Periodicals, 1741-1900.
